"LAS VEGAS WASH" - 16 x 40 inches, acrylic paint on 1.5 inch thick gallery wrap canvas
 
When I visited one of my art collectors who lives just outside of Las Vegas a couple of years ago, we went to a place called "The Wash". It's more or less a natural wetland that's become more of a stream formed by storm runoff, and the water used by all the people in and around Las Vegas.
 
What struck me was how it was right in the middle of a highly populated area. This piece made me think of that juxtaposition of the desert spring like environment, right next to suburban homes,  with lush green lawns & backyards.
