Mandala Artist Adam Millward - About Me
I developed my Mandala art style doodling on post-it notes while I worked in different call centers for almost 17 years. Eventually in October 2011 I tried painting one - and I loved it! So I kept on painting. As I painted more, I began to feel that painting Mandalas was my gift and a true calling. I do all my work 100% freehand. I never trace, use geometry tools, projectors or grids.
A few months after I began painting, at the end of a particularly long painting session, I stopped to reflect on how my paintings actually came to be, and I realized it wasn't just me involved. There were many, many layers of human interaction: the people who made the paint, the ones who made the canvas, the ones who made the bottles for the paint, the ones who built the building where the art store is, the people that work at the art store, the people who paved the roads to get there, the ones who built all the parts for the vehicle I took to get there - it goes on and on! If you take it far enough, it probably involved the interactions between thousands, if not millions, of people!
Quantum entanglement is a physical phenomenon that occurs when pairs or groups of particles are generated or interact in ways such that the quantum state of each particle cannot be described independently – instead, a quantum state may be given for the system as a whole.
All my Mandalas start with a dot in the middle, the "Nexus" point, but after that, the possibilities are Infinite! All the different colors. shapes and details can be seen to represent the different circumstances that happen to a person. Different family situations, schools, languages, geographic regions, economic situations, cultures etc... produce different results, but each person is uniquely beautiful and has their own "dot" of light at the center.
By doing something with passion and dedication, I think you can get results that will inspire other people. My art is meant to help each person see/seek their own unique beauty/talent/passion and together we can raise the quantum state of our reality!
This is why I love doing commissioned/custom pieces, it gets me to do things I never would have thought of on my own, and gives the client a chance to be a "co-creator" of their own unique piece.
I never know what they are going to end up like when I start one, always with a dot in the middle, the "nexus" point of each creation. I just get a feeling of what to do next and go with it. So to me they are also a kind of "nexus point" of human interaction allowing "God" (or whatever you prefer to call that web of connection I described), to express itself through my art. Every time I complete a new one I get such a great feeling, and I feel like I am fullfilling my purpose in life! I am grateful every day that I am able to bring forth these "Nexus Visions" to share back to the web that helped make them possible in the first place! Hope you like them!
